This Saturday, boxing fans will see something exciting when Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk face each other in a big rematch. Not only will the fight decide the heavyweight champion, but it will also be the first time a special computer-powered judge is used in boxing.
Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk Rematch Brings AI Judge to the Ring
Turki Alalshikh, the person in charge, said on Tuesday that a special robot judge will watch the fight between Usyk and Fury.
The computer judge will watch the whole fight and score every round. But the scores from the computer will not count toward the final decision. Three real judges sitting near the ring will still decide the winner of the match.
For the first time ever, an AI-powered judge will monitor the fight 🤖 Free from bias and human error brought to you by The Ring. The first fight between Fury and Usyk happened earlier this year. It was a close match, and Usyk won by split decision. One judge thought Fury won, but the other two gave Usyk the victory. This made Usyk the first heavyweight boxer to hold all four championship belts at the same time.
In their first match, Fury started strong, winning the early rounds. But Usyk fought back later and even knocked Fury into the ropes in the ninth round, which helped him win. Now, Fury is looking to take revenge, and Usyk wants to win again to keep his titles.

The fight will take place in Saudi Arabia at the Kingdom Arena. Usyk’s WBA, WBO, and WBC titles will all be on the line. He lost his IBF title earlier because he could not fight another challenger in time.
The new computer judge is being tested to see if it can give fair scores without mistakes. Many people think it could be helpful for the future of boxing, where there are often arguments about judging. But others worry it might miss some things, like how strong punches are or how much damage is done in a round.
Even though the computer scores will not decide this fight, people are curious to see how well it does. Both fighters say they are ready to give their best, so the match might end with a clear winner. If that happens, neither the human judges nor the computer judge will be needed to settle the result.
