- Tyson Fury abruptly announced retirement from professional boxing
- “The gypsy King” suggested his second loss to Oleksandr Usyk was a robbery
Tyson Fury has called it quits less than a month after his second loss to Oleksandr Usyk.
‘The Gypsy King’ out
In a short yet profound announcement, “The Gypsy King” shocked the boxing world with his retirement. Despite seemingly being at peace with how his illustrious career played out, Fury still suggested that he got robbed in his rematch with Usyk.
Fury uttered the phrase, “Dick Turpin wore a mask,” an English adage implying someone didn’t even try to make it look like he wasn’t being fair or honest about something.
“Hey everybody, I am going to make it short and sweet. I would like to announce my retirement from boxing. It has been a blast and I have loved every single minute of it. I’m going to end with this: Dick Turpin wore a mask. God bless everybody and see you on the other side,” the legendary heavyweight said.

No AJ fight, at least for now
Nobody knows how long would Fury stay retired. The only thing certain at this point is that his highly-anticipated rumored showdown with Anthony Joshua has already been scratched off due to his retirement.
Fury has gone unbeaten since making his pro boxing debut in 2008. However, that incredible streak ended when Usyk outpointed him in their first undisputed title fight. His second defeat came a few months later when the Ukrainian beat him again in their rematch last December 21.
As it stands, “The Gypsy King” retired with a record of 34-2-1.
