Tyson Fury hit the scale at 265 pounds for Mariusz Wach, giving away 26.4 pounds before Friday’s heavyweight fight at Max Muay Thai Stadium in Pattaya, Thailand.
Wach weighed 291.4 pounds. The weigh-in announcer listed the Polish veteran at 52 fights, 39 wins, and 20 knockouts, while Fury was introduced at 38 fights, 35 wins, and 25 knockouts. Fury’s official pro record sits at 35-2-1 after his April decision win over Arslanbek Makhmudov.
This is a real rarity in Fury’s career. The last time he was lighter than an opponent was his first Derek Chisora fight in 2011, when Fury weighed 255.5 and Chisora came in at 261. This time the gap is much wider, and Fury leaned into the joke immediately.

The bout was previously reported as a stay-busy stop before the larger Anthony Joshua build. Joshua is set to face Kristian Prenga in Saudi Arabia one day later, keeping both British heavyweights active before any bigger business can be finalized.

Fury Keeps Joshua Talk At A Distance
Fury said he is not tying his year to any single superfight, even with the Joshua talk hovering over everything.
Unbelievable, you know, great opportunity for both fighters to be here to fight for WBC title here in Pattaya, Thailand. Look at all these people, all the media, and who’s turned up from all over the world. Like Spencer said before, we’ve got fans here from all over the job. Very, very happy to be fighting. And look, I want to keep busy. I’m not banking myself on any f*cking fight happening that might not happen or whatever. But I want to keep busy. I’m a fighter, so the main thing I’ve always wanted to do and never been able to do is stay busy all the time. And this year is the year of Tyson Fury staying busy. So, whatever happens, I’m just going to stay busy throughout the year. Who knows how many fights? I might have f*cking 10 fights this year.
Yeah, obviously. I’ve been out for, I had the one fight in over 2 years. I want to box his head off 12 rounds if possible. But if it goes a little bit sooner than not, then happy days.
Wach, 46, has been around heavyweight boxing forever. His record includes fights with Wladimir Klitschko, Alexander Povetkin, Dillian Whyte, Kevin Lerena, Frazer Clarke, and other recognizable names. His interpreter said the preparation was strong and Wach expected the fight to become easier if it lasted longer.
His preparation is very good. I see his leg is very thin. And I suspect a very good fight here in the Friday.
It doesn’t easy for me. His technique, Tyson. But I think during more round, the fight will be more easy for me.
Fury did not talk like Wach was just a body in the way. He called the size difference a real danger and said the small Thai venue could still bring a serious atmosphere.

Fury-Wach is not scheduled for a normal live broadcast and is expected to be used later for At Home with the Furys. For Fury, that makes the Pattaya trip less about instant pay-per-view noise and more about staying active before the Joshua chase gets another checkpoint.
