Tyron Woodley felt extremely disrespected by KSI and his team in the midst of their negotiations to make a fight come to fruition. Woodley has now established himself in the world of boxing after having fought YouTube star Jake Paul twice now, losing the latter via hellacious knockout. Following that up, Woodley attempted to land a boxing bout with another big YouTuber.

The ex-UFC welterweight champion was angling for a fight with Olajide Olayinka Williams Olatunji, also known as, KSI. KSI is no stranger to YouTube boxing, having fought Logan Paul twice, and is coming off wins over Swarmz and Luis Alcaraz Pineda in 2022, winning both matches via knockout. His last bout resulted in a victory over social media star FaZe last month.

Tyron Woodley Blasts KSI for Lack of Professionalism in Fight Negotiations

As for his latest fight with FaZe, KSI was initially slated to face off against Woodley, while a fight with Jake Paul and Dillon Danis headlined. However, when Paul injured himself and was forced out of the fight, KSI then got paired up with Danis, leaving Woodley in the dust. Speaking on The MMA Hour recently, Woodley detailed what it was like negotiating with KSI’s team when they were slated to fight. To but it shortly – it was a disrespectful encounter.

“The negotiation of the contract was very disrespectful, and it made me want to hurt him,” Woodley said (transcript via MMA Fighting). “So I told this to his manager. I was on a call with his manager and I said, ‘Never in my life have I been disrespected like this in a contract.’ So every advantage, they wanted. And this was terms that were added after we had already agreed.

“So we agreed, I got a contract, and they went, ‘Oh, I’m sorry to do this, but KSI’s trainer wants to add this hydration thing.’ So when I went out to Dubai, I got in his trainer’s face too, I said, ‘I’m going to weigh f***ing 187. Homicide, that’s what I’m going to weigh. I’m not weighing no 185, and your boy is going to get f***** up.’”

While Woodley is frustrated by the situation, he also realizes that he needs to be aware of his own legacy, and not let himself being agitated by these situations impact what he has already accomplished in his combat sports career.

“I kind of didn’t want to cry over spilled milk, because one thing I’ve got to recognize is that I’ve got to be careful with my legacy,” Woodley said. “I can’t be screaming and yelling and pounding to try to be able to fight these guys that are coming into it from a more entertainment standpoint, right? Especially with what I’ve done already in my career.”
