Fans inside the Wembley Arena in London, England were treated to an all-out brawl when social media influencers WingsOfRedemption and Boogie2988 went toe-to-toe in a heavyweight contest.
Little skill was on display during the matchup that pitted the two heavy-set internet stars, but that didn’t matter to fans in attendance for the Misfits & DAZN: X Series 007 boxing event as the two men threw everything they had at one another. Weighing a combined 800 pounds, some might say that it was a perfect example of everything wrong with the status of modern-day boxing. Others would call it pure entertainment. Boogie2988 did his best to hang with WingsOfRedemption, but the aggressiveness of his opponent was simply too much to overcome. Wings was able to score the victory in the second round by way of TKO leaving fans slightly entertained, somewhat sad, and perhaps a little disgusted.
The seventh co-promoted event front Misfits Boxing and DAZN is scheduled to be headlined by a battle of undefeated cruiserweights as social media star KSI (3-0) shares the squared circle with Joe Fournier (9-0, 1 no contest). Fornier entered the bout with nine career knockouts to his credit. The event also featured the highly anticipated return of UK native Salt Papi who steps into the ring against former mixed martial artist Anthony ‘PrettyBoy’ Taylor.
