- Sean O’Malley thinks his title fight at UFC 306 will generate more buzz than Canelo Alvarez vs. Edgar Berlanga
- “Suga” randomly paid his neighbors’ rent after winning a Crypto lottery
Sean O’Malley is confident that his title fight with Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 306 will be bigger than Canelo Alvarez vs. Edgar Berlanga.
Sean is excited
O’Malley is not only looking forward to his next title defense but also to how UFC 306 will be more talked about than Canelo’s upcoming fight which will take place on the same date, Sept. 14.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, “Suga” expressed how excited he is about seeing how it would all play out leading up to that day.
“I’m so excited for this fight,” O’Malley said. “I wasn’t actually very excited for the Aljo fight. I was like, stressed about that fight. Just because my rib [injury], my training camp wasn’t the best. It was good for what we had. And then it’s like, this is hard.”
“This fight, I’m feeling good as f**k, I love this match up. He’s got a 10-fight win streak. It’s a big fight. It’s at the Sphere. It’s in competition with boxing, which is just kinda an extra little layer… When it comes to Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, who are they talking about? Are they talking about Canelo? Are they talking about the boxing fight? Or are they talking about the absolute dominating, beautiful, masterful, masterclass performance that I put on Merab and the viral knockout that came with it? Or are they talking about a 36-minute Canelo boxing fight that was kinda fire? That’s what excites me. It’s the competition of who are they talking about Sunday, Monday, Tuesday? Who who stole the headlines? Me!,” he added.

The champ shared his blessings
Despite being busy gearing up for his next title fight, O’Malley still found the time to do something good for his neighborhood in Arizona. In fact, the UFC bantamweight champ recently randomly knocked on his neighbors’ doors and offered to pay their rent, telling them that he was just sharing his winnings from a Crypto lottery.

O’Malley will be hoping to defend his title for the second time. On the other hand, Dvalishvili will look to dethrone “Suga” and improve his winning streak to 11 fights in a row. The pair will headline UFC 306 at The Sphere on Sept. 14.
