Ryan Garcia, who used to be the WBC champion, has some big plans when his boxing suspension ends in 2025. He hasn’t fought since his big match with Devin Haney last year, but before his suspension ends, he’s going to have an exhibition fight with Rukiya Anpo on December 30th. Anpo fought Manny Pacquiao in a special match earlier this year.
After this, Ryan might have another exhibition fight before his suspension is over in April. He was banned for a year after testing positive for Ostarine after his fight with Haney.
Looking ahead, Ryan wants to fight big names like Sean O’Malley and Jake Paul when he’s back in the ring in 2025.
Ryan Garcia Plans Fights with Jake Paul and Sean O’Malley After Suspension Ends
Ryan Garcia shared on The Ariel Helwani Show that he wants to fight Jake Paul and Sean O’Malley by the end of 2025. He’s really excited for these big matches when his suspension is over.
“It could be against Jake Paul, we don’t know! He was trying to beat up on Uncle Mike, we said we would run it one day, I kind of gave birth to his boxing career. So, I’m here to end it,” Garcia said. “If I fought Jake it would probably be at 185, I think they genuinely think I’m probably too small. But like I said, I think skills pay the bills! If Jake fights the way he fought with Mike, I genuinely believe I would knock him out in four to five rounds.
“Sean O’Malley, he didn’t fight his best [at UFC 306]…I’m interested in it! He could make a run back, he’s a big star regardless. And he looked off that night, couple fights, he wins, and we can run it.”
Ryan Garcia said he might join the UFC during his break from boxing, even though he hasn’t fought in MMA before. He also mentioned wanting to fight Jake Paul, who just beat the legendary Mike Tyson earlier this month.
Sean O’Malley has talked about fighting Ryan Garcia and boxing champ Gervonta Davis. Ryan also wants to fight Davis again after losing to him last year by TKO.
