Garcia saying he was not in shape is very Garcia, but it does not erase the disciplinary result or the fact that Haney’s side has kept that result stapled to the rivalry.
Catterall has every reason to keep the volume up. He wants Haney next, and Liam Paro has also been tied to the conversation as Haney’s next possible opponent. Catterall backing Haney’s version of events gives Team Haney a friendly dance partner, and it gives DAZN a clean boxing argument if it wants a fresh welterweight angle instead of more waiting around.
