Roy Jones Jr. is certain Jake Paul will end up trying to survive Mike Tyson’s power and he also sees his fellow boxing legend beating the YouTuber.

Jake will feel Tysons’ power

Speaking to Talksport, Jones Jr. weighed in on the upcoming showdown between Tyson and Paul, emphasizing that “The Problem Child” is in for a nasty fight. For Jones Jr., who famously fought Tyson back in 2020, Paul will feel the power of “Iron Mike,” especially with the rounds cut short to two minutes.

Jones Jr. believes Tyson will not gas out and continue battering Paul but once the boxing legend lands a huge one, the fight is over.

“That’s the real question, how much can Jake survive?” Jones Jr. said. “That’s the real question because Mike has what it takes to get anyone out of there. And I’m going to tell you this, when I boxed him four years ago it was only two-minute rounds but surprisingly he didn’t decline, he stayed the same the whole fight and that surprised me. If they are doing two-minute rounds then Mike is not going to tire out, I already know that because I watched him do that.”

“I don’t think he’ll severely injure Jake Paul because I feel like… as explosive as Mike is, if he clips Jake, Jake is going down or going out, if he doesn’t then Jake will be fine but what really does damage is the repetitiveness. When a guy keeps getting hit over the rounds, six rounds, seven rounds, eight rounds, still getting hit with same shots. Mike punches so hard that you’re not gonna take his shots, no two rounds in a row or three rounds in a row. That’s not happening. Therefore, no permanent damage will happen to Jake,” he added.

Tyson is like a pit bull

Jones Jr. also thinks Tyson will be coming in with bad intensions. The way he sees it, “The Baddest Man on the Planet” won’t be able to stop himself from hurting Paul and that could lead to a stunning knockout.

“Mike is like, I tell people all the time, I’ve had all kind of dogs. Mike is like a pit bull,” Jones Jr. said. “The problem with a pit bull is they don’t know how to really play. They’ll try to play but before long, they gonna be trying to fight for real because that’s just what’s in their blood… that’s who Mike Tyson is.”

“Mike Tyson is a guy that he’ll get in there and try to do what he’s supposed to do but he just can’t help it. He wants to kill, nothing you can do about that. So if you get in there and get him started, he gonna heat up, and once he heats up, it’s a wrap.”

Roy’s prediction

As expected, Jones Jr. is convinced that Tyson will get the better of the YouTuber-turned-boxing star. Depending on how long Paul can survive, Jones Jr. thinks it could end in a decision.

“Well, I like Mike, probably by decision. But if he chooses to go out and take him out, I think he can. However, I feel like if he feels comfortable, he will just box and enjoy himself because why get in shape to go one round?,” the 55-year-old predicted.

Despite his age, Tyson has been training like a beast heading into his boxing return. The 58-year-old has vowed to take Paul out and put an end to the youngster’s soaring boxing career.

Paul vs. Tyson will take place on Nov. 15th at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas and will be streamed live and free on Netflix.
