Oleksandr Usyk defends heavyweight gold against Rico Verhoeven on Saturday, May 23, at the Giza Necropolis in Egypt.

The fight headlines Glory In Giza, a DAZN pay-per-view built around a rare crossover title bout. Usyk is the unbeaten boxing champion. Verhoeven is the long-running GLORY heavyweight force moving into a massive boxing assignment with only one pro boxing bout on his record.

Usyk enters at 24-0 with 15 knockouts. The Ukrainian southpaw became undisputed at cruiserweight, moved up to heavyweight, beat Anthony Joshua twice, beat Tyson Fury, and later stopped Daniel Dubois. He has held major belts in two divisions and remains one of boxing’s best technicians.

Verhoeven is 1-0 as a professional boxer, but his kickboxing record is listed at 66-10 with 21 knockouts. He is 6-foot-5, around 270 pounds, and built his name through a long GLORY heavyweight title reign.

The faceoff video is below.

Start Time, How To Watch, And Full Glory In Giza Card

The main card is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. ET, 10 a.m. PT, and 6 p.m. BST. Main event ring walks are expected around 5:48 p.m. ET, 2:48 p.m. PT, and 10:48 p.m. BST, depending on the undercard.

DAZN has the broadcast. The event is being sold as a pay-per-view, with listed pricing at $59.99 in the United States and £24.99 in the United Kingdom.

Full main card according to DAZN:

  • Oleksandr Usyk vs. Rico Verhoeven for the WBA and WBC heavyweight titles
  • Hamzah Sheeraz vs. Alem Begic for the vacant WBO super-middleweight title
  • Jack Catterall vs. Shakhram Giyasov for the WBA Regular welterweight title
  • Frank Sanchez vs. Richard Torrez Jr. at heavyweight
  • Mizuki Hiruta vs. Mai Soliman for the WBO super-flyweight title
  • Daniel Lapin vs. Benjamin Mendes Tani at light-heavyweight

Verhoeven’s route is pressure. He needs to use his size, make the fight physical, and force exchanges before Usyk fully controls the distance. Usyk’s route is cleaner. He can change rhythm, turn Verhoeven, and make the larger man reset before landing meaningful offense.

Usyk has already dealt with elite heavyweights in the Daniel Dubois rematch and across two fights with Joshua. Verhoeven brings championship experience from another combat sport, but this is a boxing title fight against a champion who rarely gives opponents the same look twice.
