- Mike Tyson looked back at the time he seriously injured his back rom a hoverboard accident
- The boxing legend regrets the incident to this day
Mike Tyson still vividly recalls how a hoverboard accident back in 2015 saw him undergoing a back surgery.
A petty accident with serious repercussions
Speaking on The Art of Ward, the 58-year-old detailed how the petty accident “ruined his life.” According to Tyson, he was warned by his trainer but he still opted to play with the hoverboard only to regret it forever.
“I was in training hitting the heavy bag and I was walking around and there was a skateboard there, my trainer said ‘Mike, stay away from that’ and I was like ‘Man, you’re crazy’… But yeah, that ruined my life, I had to get surgery and everything. [On] My vertebrae…,” Tyson said.
“When I went there, there was a bunch of other people there that’d fallen off hoverboards too, in that same emergency room. I wasn’t the only one, can you imagine?! That same night some people all in an emergency room [because they fell off] this hoverboard… I can’t believe that my wife put it out there. That’s how hard I hit the floor, boom! The whole floor shook. Boom! And I was like, ‘Aaah!’,” he added.

Tyson is healthy enough for his boxing return
Today, Tyson has fully recovered from his back injury. In fact, “The Baddest Man on the Planet” is very confident about taking Jake Paul out in their upcoming boxing match.
Ahead of the highly-anticipated showdown, Tyson boasted about training harder than he is supposed to. On the other hand, Paul’s girlfriend is being worried about what the devastating power “Iron Mike” still possesses in his fists.
Paul vs. Tyson is just days away from happening. The pair will finally face each other inside the ring on Nov. 15th at the AT&T Stadium. The match will also be streamed on Netflix for free.
