Mike Tyson’s big fight against Jake Paul happened last month in Texas with 70,000 fans watching. Sadly, Tyson lost, and fans were disappointed because he only landed 18 punches during the entire fight. The match aired live on Netflix, but it wasn’t the exciting showdown many had hoped for.
Jake Paul earned $40 million, while Mike Tyson made $20 million from their fight. Jake’s earnings were higher because he helped promote the event and has a huge following on social media. The fight also included many ads for the sports betting company Draftkings.

Meanwhile, Medier, a company from Cyprus, is upset with Tyson. They say he broke a deal to promote a gambling company called Rabona. They’re suing Tyson and his business, Tyrannic, for almost $1.59 million (€1.46 million). The company claims Tyson ended the deal in March, right when his fight with Jake Paul was announced, to avoid a schedule problem. The lawsuit was filed in a London court in October.
Mike Tyson and his company Tyrannic have not yet given a response to the lawsuit. Tyson has stayed silent on the issue so far. But Medier’s lawyers have spoken up in public documents released on Friday.
“The true reason for Mr. Tyson and Tyrannic’s hasty and unlawful termination was because Mr. Tyson had agreed a deal, sponsored by Netflix, to fight the influencer Jake Paul,” the company’s lawyer said. h/t ESPN
The people who are suing Mike Tyson say he ended the deal because Medier broke the rules. But the lawyers for Medier say they didn’t do anything wrong. They said Tyson made a mistake and it caused them to lose a lot of money, over €1.46 million.
Even though Tyson’s team claims Medier didn’t keep their part of the agreement, the company argues that Tyson’s actions led to a major financial loss. This lawsuit comes after Tyson’s fight with Jake Paul, which didn’t go well for Tyson. Despite a lot of hype around the fight, Tyson only landed a small percentage of his punches.

Terence Crawford, a super strong boxer who has won lots of belts, called Mike Tyson “trash” after seeing what happened in the fight.

Canelo Alvarez was also one of the millions who watched Jake Paul beat Tyson. He called the fight an “injustice” and even said it made him think about the offer Paul made to him, who later called out the Mexican boxer after the fight.
The whole fight was uncomfortable to watch, with other top boxers like Gervonta Davis and Tony Bellew also voicing their disapproval of the event.
Now, things have gotten even worse for one of boxing’s greatest fighters, as a new lawsuit has been added to his troubles.
