Unsurprisingly, many in the MMA community were full of praise for Tyson after he unloaded punches on a passenger who was harassing him.

In what doesn’t come as much of a surprise, many in the MMA community were in full support of Mike Tyson.

The boxing legend made headlines Thursday after it was revealed he repeatedly punched a passenger seated behind him.

The Jet Blue fight which was bound for Florida from San Francisco saw a passenger repeatedly bother and annoy Tyson from behind.

Tyson — who was otherwise friendly with other passengers — asked the man to calm down and when the request was denied, Tyson had enough.

Tyson exited the plane afterward and was followed by the bloodied passenger who was treated and then met with police. As of now, there is no word on whether any charges have been filed.

Tyson has not been arrested either.

Tyson’s representative also issues a statement as well:

“Unfortunately, Mr. Tyson had an incident on a flight with an aggressive passenger who began harassing him and threw a water bottle at him while he was in his seat,” the statement read via TMZ.

According to San Francisco police, the video was sent to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office in charge of investigating the incident. Here’s a police statement.

“On Wednesday April 20, 2022, at approximately 10:06 p.m., San Francisco Police officers assigned to the SFPD Airport Bureau were dispatched to a physical altercation onboard an airplane located at the Domestic Terminal of the San Francisco International Airport,” the San Francisco Police Department said in a statement. “Officers arrived and detained two subjects that were believed to be involved in the incident. One subject was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries. That subject provided minimal details of the incident and refused to cooperate further with the police investigation. Both subjects were released … pending further investigation.

“The SFPD is aware of video that possibly captured the incident, which surfaced following the initial investigation. That video has been forwarded to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.”

MMA Fighters Show Support For Mike Tyson

UFC president Dana White tweeted about the incident in a humorous manner later on.

He was not the only one as a number of MMA fighters also reacted to the incident — all in favor of Tyson’s actions.
