Not long after Jake Paul released footage of him dropping a sparring partner during a recent training session, Mike Tyson did the exact same thing.

-On Friday, November 15, Tyson will return to the ring for his first professional boxing bout in nearly 20 years when he meets ‘The Problem Child’ inside the 80,000-seat AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The fight will air live and exclusively on Netflix—a first for the streaming giant who will offer the highly anticipated matchup to his 280 million subscribers at no extra charge.

Though there has been a lot of backlash regarding the contest—most of it surrounding the 31-year age gap between the two generational stars—it’s still expected to be one of the most watched fights in combat sports history.

With the fight a few short weeks away, both fighters are entering their final preparations and recently offered some sparring footage that caught the attention of fans on social media.

First, Paul shared a clip of him dropping an undefeated heavyweight fighter. Now, Tyson is offering up something similar on Instagram. The former unified heavyweight world champion shared a short video of him dropping one of his sparring partners with a barrage of strikes punctuated by a nasty body blow.

Mike Tyson Returns For His First Pro Fight Since June 2005

Kickstarting his career with 19 straight knockouts, Mike Tyson became one of the most beloved boxers in the sport between 1985 and 1991. During that run, he became the WBA, WBC, and IBF heavyweight champion and went 37-0 before suffering his first setback against James ‘Buster’ Douglas—still considered by many to be the biggest upset in sports history.

Tyson reclaimed the WBC and WBA heavyweight titles in 1996, but ‘Iron’ was never the same after suffering back-to-back losses against Evander Holyfield. He hung up his gloves in June 2005 following a sixth-round TKO loss against Kevin McBride.

He finished his career with a 50-6 record, 44 of those wins coming by way of KO/TKO.

Tyson returned to the ring in November 2020 for an eight-round charity boxing match with Roy Jones Jr. Though it was an exhibition, the fight was scored a split draw by the World Boxing Council. Women’s boxing icon Christy Martin is the only one who scored the fight in favor of Tyson, giving him the nod via a 79-73 scorecard.
