Manny Pacquiao recently spoke with IBA Boxing about potential crossover fights, explaining which MMA stars he would consider facing in the boxing ring. Pacquiao returned to boxing in 2025 by challenging Mario Barrios for the WBC welterweight title at age 46, showing he still has the stamina and skill to compete at a high level.

Considering a bout with Conor McGregor

Acknowledging the long-discussed matchup, Pacquiao said:

“Oh yeah, that’s possible also, with Conor McGregor.”

He highlighted McGregor’s infamous trash talking as motivation:

“McGregor. Too much talking. I want to shut his mouth up.”

Pacquiao’s remarks show he is open to high-profile challenges and values competitive excitement in the ring.

Respecting Khabib Nurmagomedov

Asked to choose between McGregor and Khabib, Pacquiao selected the Irishman. He praised Nurmagomedov, stating:

“(Nurmagomedov) is a nice guy, a nice person. Humble and an inspiration. A good role model for sports.”

Pacquiao’s comments reflect his admiration for Nurmagomedov’s conduct and his decision to stay retired.

Pacquiao remains linked to other major fights, including a rumored rematch with Floyd Mayweather, which could be arranged by Netflix in 2026. His recent comeback at age 46, challenging Mario Barrios for the WBC welterweight title in July 2025, shows he still has competitive drive and fan interest.
