Logan Paul is setting his sights high, aiming for a massive fight with former UFC champ Conor McGregor. What started as whispers now feels closer to reality as both fighters have shown interest. However, the road to the boxing ring isn’t clear-cut.
McGregor remains under contract with the UFC for two more fights, and stepping outside the Octagon isn’t exactly a decision he can make alone. But that hasn’t stopped Paul from trying to make it happen.
“If Conor McGregor wants to fight, we are running it,” Paul said in a recent video on his YouTube channel. “It’s an epic fight. It would be something I would step away from WWE for a second to go do. $250 million, Rob. $250 million, Rob. I have to take that.”
Paul also addressed his WWE commitments and hinted at the challenges of getting UFC President Dana White on board.
“Unless Nick Khan matches that, I’ll stay in the WWE,” he explained. “I think he’s trying to pressure Dana [White] into making it happen because he’s owned by the UFC. Like, he can’t do f****** s***, let alone fight without them knowing.”
McGregor’s Take on the Fight
Interestingly, McGregor seems on board with the idea. In one of Paul’s video clips, McGregor can be heard saying:
“This can happen, my man. For real. This can and will happen.”
With McGregor’s massive star power and Paul’s growing profile as both a boxer and WWE superstar, the fight promises to be a spectacle.
The Challenges Ahead
While the idea of a $250 million exhibition match is tempting, UFC President Dana White has plans to bring McGregor back to the Octagon in 2025. Paul’s commitments to WWE also complicate the equation as his schedule is packed with events and appearances.
Still, both fighters fall under the Endeavor umbrella, making the fight a possibility. If it happens, it could become one of the most lucrative events in sports history, drawing fans from combat sports, professional wrestling, and beyond.
The Bigger Picture
For WWE, Paul’s involvement in a match with McGregor would only boost his appeal. Storylines could easily be built around the fight, adding to the drama when Paul returns to sports entertainment. Meanwhile, McGregor could use the buzz to hype his next UFC fight, regardless of the outcome in the boxing ring.
This potential showdown is more than just a fight. It’s a spectacle that could redefine cross-promotional combat sports. Whether it happens or not, one thing is certain. The conversation is far from over.
