  • Keyshawn Davis became the new WBO lightweight champion after securing a fourth-round KO win over Denys Berinchyk
  • Thriving prospect Abdullah Mason also scored a TKO win to improve his unbeaten record

Keyshawn Davis and Abdullah Mason scored stunning victories to improve their unbeaten records.

Keyshawn won his first world title

Davis did not fail to deliver in front of the American crowd at the Theatre at Madison Square Garden this past weekend. The undefeated lightweight did not only stop Ukrainian champion Denys Berinchyk with a vicious body shot in Round 4 but the win also saw him becoming the new WBO lightweight champion.

Davis now has a 13-0 pro boxing record with nine coming by way of KO/TKO. The 25-year-old is now officially one of lightweight division’s four active world champions alongside Gervonta Davis, Vasiliy Lomachenko, and Shakur Stevenson.

Abdullah with another TKO win

Apart from Davis, another American pulled off a spectacular TKO win as Mason finished his opponent Manuel Jaimes in the fourth round as well. It was a lopsided bout with Mason dominating Jaimes right from the get-go.

Mason unloaded a flurry of power punches and Jaimes, who got knocked down multiple times, wasn’t really able to counter most of them. In Round 4, a sensational combination floored Jaimes once again and this time, the referee in charge had seen enough. Mason was then declared the winner via TKO.

The TKO finish saw Mason improving his undefeated record to 17-0. He won his last seven fights via KO/TKO fashion.
