Kamaru Usman doesn’t think Alex Pereira will fight Jake Paul but he believes “The Problem Child” has a chance to beat “Poatan.”

Dana may have had enough of Jake

Speaking on his Pound 4 Pound with Kamaru & Henry show, “The Nigerian Nightmare” pointed out that UFC president Dana White may have had enough of Paul’s attacks and it would be the reason why his proposed boxing match with Pereira will not materialize.

“No, it won’t happen,” Usman said. “I just don’t think it’s… Jake Paul, in the name of promoting nowadays, has done a lot of things and said a lot of things about Dana White that I feel are like Colby Covington-esque. In that case, you’ve put yourself off to where I don’t think Mr. Dana White ever wants to do business with you. At some point when you start to attack a man in a certain way they get to a place where they just say you know what I’m going to wipe my hands with you, I don’t care to deal with you, I don’t care to do business with you. [But] I never say never that’s a motto that I live by.”

Jake has a chance

As for how the potential fight would play out, Usman boldly thinks the YouTuber-turned-boxing star could upset the UFC light heavyweight champ. The way “The Nigerian Nightmare” sees it, Paul could find success against Pereira as “Poatan” and Mike Perry have identical styles.

“I don’t think that will ever happen but… I am 100%, I don’t think it’s an unwinnable fight for Jake Paul. I don’t think so,” Usman assessed. “Jake Paul, is definitely, he did show some really good things there, being able to stick by the jab and when he was able to commit to the jab… I know Alex Pereira is very good in doing the thing that was giving Mike Perry success in that fight and that’s slip, rip, slip, rip, slip, counter. That’s what Mike Perry was doing and that has given him a lot of success and that is Alex Pereira’s bread and butter but Alex Pereira also holds his hands very low.”

“Yes, he has a mean left hook, but he also holds his hands very low. That head moves when he’s slipping and ripping, but other than that, it’s not like it’s constantly moving. He’s not constantly doing what a boxer’s head movement should be doing. So, I’m not completely counting Jake Paul out of the fight,” he added.

After knocking Perry out, Paul talked to Pereira via FaceTime and the pair agreed to face each other. If everything will go the way he envisions it, “The Problem Child” wants to fight Pereira after his November showdown with Mike Tyson.
