Jake Paul vs. Anderson Silva Official

After several weeks of rumors, it has been confirmed that Jake Paul and Anderson Silva will meet inside the boxing ring in Phoenix, Arizona on October 29.

Paul made a video confirming the matchup, and promising to knock Silva out in under five rounds.

“Anderson ‘The Spider’ Silva is the most versatile fighter the world has ever seen,” Paul stated. “Just a year ago, he outclassed boxing champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and showed the world why he is often referred to as the greatest fighter of all time.

“Every expert, from MMA to boxing, has said Jake Paul won’t fight Anderson Silva. They said Jake Paul is afraid of Anderson Silva, and Jake Paul would lose to Anderson Silva. Well, to all the non-believers – Jake Paul is fighting Anderson Silva. It’s an honor to have the opportunity to share the ring with the greatest UFC striker of all time. On Saturday, Oct. 29, I will walk humbly into the ring, touch gloves with a living legend and do my best to exterminate ‘The Spider.’”

Ariel Helwani followed up with a report, confirming the fight is signed and official, and will broadcast on Showtime pay-per-view (PPV).

It was also confirmed that the pair will meet at 187 pounds and the fight is set for eight rounds.

Paul began his professional boxing career back in 1998 with a losing effort. He then went on to become a legend in the UFC, solidifying himself as the most successful champion in middleweight history.

He also is considered amongst some as the greatest mixed martial artist of all time. After departing the UFC, Silva returned to boxing in 2021, picking up wins over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Tito Ortiz. A May exhibition match between Silva and Bruno Machado also demonstrated Silva’s formidable skills.

As for Paul, he began boxing back in 2020, racking up an undefeated record of 5-0.

Although his first two wins are over a fellow YouTube star and ex-NBA player, Paul followed those up with wins over a pair of former MMA champions.

Paul knocked out both Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley in devastating fashion. Now, he’ll attempt to add a third to the list in Silva, however, “The Spider” will undoubtedly be the best striker he’s faced of the bunch.
