Jake Paul felt the harsh realities of professional boxing after facing former unified heavyweight champion and Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua in Miami. Their bout on Friday night ended in the sixth round when Joshua landed a devastating right hand, knocking Paul out cold.

Following the fight, Paul was rushed to a hospital where doctors confirmed he had broken his jaw in two places.

Surgery and Recovery

On Saturday, Paul underwent surgery to repair the damage. Posting an update after the procedure, he revealed the extent of the injuries:

“Surgery went well thanks for all the love and support. 2 titanium plates on each side. Some teeth removed. Have to have only liquids for 7 days.”

The operation addressed not only the fractures in Paul’s jaw but also several damaged teeth, ensuring proper alignment and stabilization with titanium plates. His recovery will be closely monitored over the next few weeks, with a strict liquids-only diet as instructed by his medical team.

This marks the second loss in Jake Paul’s professional boxing career. He began his boxing journey in 2018, primarily competing against former MMA fighters. His record now stands at 12 wins and 2 losses. The other defeat came in 2023, a split-decision loss to Tommy Fury during their long-anticipated rivalry.

Despite the painful outcome, Paul’s commitment to boxing remains clear. Fans and analysts alike are watching closely to see how he manages his rehabilitation and prepares for potential future fights.

Paul’s focus in the coming weeks will be on healing and regaining strength. While the injuries were significant, the surgical team reports a positive prognosis for full recovery, with the potential for him to return to the ring once cleared.
