Jake Paul has called out Gervonta “Tank” Davis in a blistering social media statement after their scheduled boxing match was officially canceled. The fight, which was set to stream live on Netflix on November 14, was scrapped following new allegations of domestic violence made against Davis by his former partner.

Fallout from the canceled event

According to reports, the lawsuit filed against Davis includes accusations of battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, and kidnapping. Once the allegations surfaced, Paul’s company, *Most Valuable Promotions* (MVP), immediately began searching for a replacement opponent. With time running out, however, the entire event was shelved. Paul is now planning to return to the ring in December instead.

Shortly after the cancellation was confirmed, Paul took to Instagram to unleash a furious response.

“Gervonta Davis is an actual walking human piece of garbage,” Paul wrote. “Working with him is an absolute nightmare. The unprofessionalism, the bizarre requests, the showing up hours late to shoots. To the numerous arrests and related accusations and lawsuits. If you support this man, you support the most vile sin a man can commit.”

Paul refuses to give Davis a platform

In his post, Paul said he could not justify giving Davis the opportunity to profit from a major global event amid such serious accusations.

“I didn’t want to give this woman abuser a platform to grow his fans and to grow his bank account. My company champions women. I’m so sorry to everyone involved. Mostly to the undercard fighters, to my team at MVP and to my team who worked so hard prepping for this fight. Sacrificing time with loved ones and kids just for this fool to lose his unintelligent mind again. It’s scary that devilish men like this can rise to the top of culture and sports, including in positions of power.”

Paul’s statement also touched on the impact of the cancellation on those who had prepared for months, expressing regret that the undercard fighters and production teams would lose their chance to perform on the global stage.

This latest lawsuit adds to a troubling pattern in Davis’ past. The boxer has faced multiple accusations of domestic violence over the years. He was previously arrested in 2020 and again in 2022 on similar charges, though the cases were later dropped. Earlier in 2025, he was detained once more following an alleged altercation with an ex-girlfriend, but those charges were also dismissed after the woman declined to move forward.

The new case proved to be the final straw for Paul and Netflix, both of whom opted to end their working relationship with Davis and cancel the event altogether.

MVP confirms Paul’s next move

Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of *Most Valuable Promotions*, confirmed that despite the setback, Jake Paul still intends to headline a Netflix event in 2025.

“Our team has worked closely with all parties to navigate this situation responsibly,” Bidarian said. “While we will not be moving forward with this event, our plan still remains for Jake Paul to headline an event on Netflix in 2025. Details regarding a new date, location, Jake’s opponent, and additional bouts will be shared as soon as they are finalized. We thank Netflix, the Kaseya Center, and the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino for their partnership.”

Although no official replacement opponent has been named, Paul’s team has reached out to several fighters. Francis Ngannou reportedly turned down the offer, while talk of a rematch with Nate Diaz has resurfaced. Paul defeated Diaz by unanimous decision in their 2023 bout, and a December return could see the two face off again.

For now, Jake Paul’s focus appears to be on moving forward and maintaining the values he says define his brand. His post ended on a note aimed at fans:

“I hope you people moving forward look beyond his fake streetwear pieces ‘SWAG’ and search for something deeper to be a fan of. As for me, it’s onto the next one as always. Anyone, any time, any place.”
