This Sinaloa Cartel affiliate has an active arrest warrant in Mexico for his involvement in organized crime and trafficking firearms, ammunitions, and explosives.” They added, “Under President Trump, NO ONE is above the law, including world-famous athletes.”
Chavez entered the U.S. on a tourist visa in August 2023, which expired in February 2024. DHS claims he lied on a green card application tied to his marriage. His attorney, Michael Goldstein, called the allegations “outrageous,” arguing ICE is targeting Chavez’s fame to scare Latino communities.

Chavez, 39, is the son of boxing legend Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. He won the WBC middleweight title in 2011, defending it three times, with a 54-7-1 record and 34 knockouts.
