Jake Paul came clean about fearing for himself as his boxing match with Mike Tyson approaches.
Jake gets a little scared of Mike
During his face-to-face with Tyson on MVP Face 2 Face, “The Problem Child” acknowledged that “Iron Mike” looks terrifying in his training clips. Nevertheless, Paul remains optimistic about doing the unthinkable and beating Tyson.
“This is the baddest man on the planet, heavyweight, I mean just look at the guy sitting here right now, he’s an animal, he posts Instagram pictures and I get a little scared because of how good he looks but I have to step up to this level and show people that I can accomplish the Impossible and that’s what the story of Jake Paul is all about,” Paul said.
An epic exchange
The pair went on to have an epic exchange with both fighters boasting about their capabilities. However, Paul constantly recognized Tyson’s lethal power. In fact, the YouTuber-turned-boxing star even revealed that his mom is already fearing for him.
Paul: “It would be the biggest moment in all of boxing history on Friday night when I put this man to sleep so that is pretty dope.”
Tyson: “He dreams a lot. This is not going to come true, young man.”
Paul: “I respect your opinion but it’s just my time, the universe know it, the gods know it, I know it and you’re going to know it plain and simple.”
Tyson: “Okay. Next week, we’ll see.”
Paul: “I have to be alert, this is a scary scary man, he is a killer and has all the powers still, clearly, and all the videos and sparring that he’s showing, dropping sparring partners, my Mom is messaging me, she can’t even watch Tyson punch she won’t watch it because it scares her.”
“He has one of the deadliest uppercuts of all time so of course I have to be ready and know that he’s gonna have some moments in there and I’m gonna have to persevere.”
Tyson: “Well, I’m not gonna lose. So I can’t even fathom losing, I can’t even imagine it. He’s not gonna win. I think he thinks this is gonna be a really easy night. It’s not gonna be an easy night for you.”
Jake gifted Tyson a pigeon
At one point, Paul even gifted Tyson a pigeon, acknowledging the boxing legend’s penchant for birds. However, the YouTuber’s gesture did less to affect “Iron Mike.”
“This is a pigeon from Southeast Asia, very expensive but I wanted you to have this,” Paul said.
“Thank you, Jake. It looks like a little budget pedigree… I’ll feed him to my falcon,” Tyson replied.
Tyson has not fought professionally since 2005 when he lost to Kevin McBride via corner retirement. On the other hand, Paul is coming off a four-fight winning streak and has a huge advantage in terms of age.
In line with that, Tyson is expected to undergo thorough physical examination following an alarming comment he made about his health.
