Paul’s legal stand
Spiro told the New York Post:
“I’ve been retained by Mr. Paul to pursue legal redress for the damages he has suffered. If someone uses their public soapbox to harm him and the sport with lies, there will be consequences.”
Paul posted on X on August 4, 2025:
“I’ve dedicated my life to boxing and I will no longer let those with a public profile harm me or the sport I love and respect, without consequences.” Critics like Piers Morgan, who called Paul’s Chavez Jr. fight staged, are among those he’s targeting.

The controversy grew after Paul’s unanimous decision win over Mike Tyson in November 2024, with some claiming he held back to avoid hurting the older fighter.
Jake Paul, 28, is from Cleveland, Ohio, and gained fame as a social media star with his brother Logan. He began boxing professionally in 2020, facing opponents like Nate Diaz and Tommy Fury. His record is 12-1, with his only loss to Fury in 2023. He scored knockouts over Andre August and Ryan Bourland, and decisions over Tyson and Chavez Jr. His fights, often against older or crossover athletes, draw big crowds but fuel rigging claims.
He co-founded Most Valuable Promotions, which organized his Chavez Jr. fight at Honda Center in Anaheim, California, sanctioned by the California State Athletic Commission. Paul also runs Betr, a media company, boosting his profile.
Paul faced a similar legal battle in 2022 when boxing promoter Eddie Hearn sued him for over $100 million, claiming Paul falsely accused him of bribing judge Glenn Feldman in fights involving Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano and Anthony Joshua vs. Oleksandr Usyk. A U.S. District Court judge in New York denied Paul’s motion to dismiss the case in October 2024, with a hearing set for October 16, 2024. Paul called the accusations serious but stood by them at the time.
