Tommy Fury’s highly anticipated return to boxing has taken an unexpected turn after a fiery clash with Darren Till. The two were set to headline a Misfits Boxing event on January 18, but Fury has officially pulled out, citing serious concerns over Till’s controversial remarks at their press conference.

During the heated exchange, Till, a former UFC star, jokingly claimed he’d use a head kick if the fight wasn’t going his way, a nod to his MMA roots. The comment, intended as humor, sparked a tense altercation, with the pair needing to be separated.

Fury later announced his withdrawal, stating he wouldn’t risk stepping into the ring under such circumstances. Meanwhile, Jake Paul, never one to miss a chance to stir the pot, mocked Fury’s decision, reigniting their long-standing rivalry.

Tommy Fury Pulls Out of Darren Till Fight, Says He Won’t Compete on January 18

Tommy Fury is now saying he won’t fight Darren Till next month at Co-Op Live in Manchester, even though people already bought tickets. Till had made a funny comment about using an MMA move, like a head kick, if he was losing in the fight.

This made Tommy scared, so he decided to look for another fight. He told everyone on Instagram that he didn’t want to take any chances after seeing a video of someone kicking their opponent during a boxing match. Now, Tommy is on the hunt for a new fight day and a new person to fight.

“I can’t believe I’m writing this but I am now not fighting Darren Till on January 18th 2025.

“For the one simple reason being that Darren has stated over and over that he does not want to abide by professional boxing rules and that if he is loosing the fight he will resort to kicking and other stupid MMA tactics.

“I am a professional boxer, I have been out of the ring for over a year and I wanted this to be a great BOXING fight for the fans. I have wasted weeks in training camp.

“We are working hard to get a new opponent and date. I promise to get a better opponent and better fight for you guys. Good news around the corner.”

Jake Paul Reacts to Tommy Fury’s Decision to Pull Out of Darren Till Fight

Jake Paul was quick to laugh when he heard the news that Tommy Fury pulled out of his fight with Darren Till. The news spread super fast on social media, with both Tommy and Darren saying the fight was off. Jake Paul, who fought Tommy last year and lost by a close decision, couldn’t resist but share his reaction.

After Tommy and Darren’s fight got canceled, Jake made a funny post on X, just saying “Hahahaha.” Jake had a tough match with Tommy before and even wanted to fight him again with a big offer on Netflix, but he picked Mike Tyson instead. Jake also has some beef with KSI, who was behind the Misfits Boxing event.

Darren Till Fires Back at Tommy Fury and Calls Out Jake Paul After Fight Is Canceled

Darren Till is super upset about the fight with Tommy Fury getting canceled. He went on social media and said that he totally won the mental game, using the same tricks that Tommy’s family, especially Tyson and their dad John, use when they talk trash.

Darren also mentioned that his team found out about the cancelation on Sunday, but they tried to reach out to John Fury since then to fix things. Unfortunately, John didn’t answer his phone, even though he’s in charge of Tommy’s career.

“I have only just found out that my team knew Tommy Fury was pulling out of the fight Sunday,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “And didn’t want to tell me cos they were trying to get John Fury on the phone but he’s not answering calls apparently. Tommy you was never ready for that date you crazy s—house don’t ever show ur face again!!!”

“For years the Furys have bullied people at press conferences,” he said in a video. “Fury headbutted people from Usyk’s team, he punched glass when he was fighting KSI and tried to intimidate everyone. And it worked up until now. But as I said, it was never going to work with me and I bulled them at the press conference. Now John was leaving the press conference saying they were pulling out because of my tactics I was saying I was gonna use.”

Darren Till will still be fighting on January 18, even though his match with Tommy Fury is canceled.

Lee Eaton, Darren’s boxing manager, said that the fight is still happening and the promotion has confirmed it. Behind the scenes, Darren even said he’d give up all of his money if he broke any rules during the fight.

“Just to clarify Darren was asked to sell the fight and he did,” Eaton wrote on X. “DT even offered to forfeit his entire purse if he broke professional boxing rules – @misfitsboxing have confirmed @darrentill2 will still be fighting Jan 18th!!!”
