Jake Paul fought Mike Tyson on Friday night in Dallas, and so many people, more than 65 million homes, watched it on Netflix. The very next day, Dana White put together UFC 309 with Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic fighting for the big title at Madison Square Garden. Both events were super big and fun, but you could tell there was still some drama between them all week. They probably both watched each other’s shows and had their own thoughts about it.
Jake Paul Accuses Dana White of Holding Conor McGregor ‘Hostage’
After Jake Paul’s big fight with Mike Tyson, he’s been super confident and making bold statements on social media. He’s been sharing his thoughts on X, talking about his rivals like Artur Beterbiev and even his old buddy Francis Ngannou.
But it seems like his biggest problem is with UFC boss Dana White, with whom he’s had a long, tricky relationship. When Jake was fighting lots of MMA fighters, he even made a song that poked fun at Dana, and lots of people watched it.
Now, Jake Paul is saying that Dana White’s biggest fighter, Conor McGregor, is like a prisoner because of the strict rules in his contract. Conor is one of the most famous athletes ever, but he hasn’t been able to fight since breaking his leg in 2021, even though doctors say he’s okay to fight again.
“Dana White has a been boxing promoter his whole career,” Paul wrote on X, sharing an old story from 2014 about how his show The Ultimate Fighter spin-off got canceled super fast.
“All these nut riders need to do their research. His TV show failed. Couldn’t sell 4K tickets in Dublin with that useless Irish boxer he’s promoting [Callum Walsh]. And he is not fighters first. He’s Dana first. Builds you up and tears you down. Now Conor McGregor is hostage. Free Conor.”

Conor McGregor and Dana White aren’t seeing eye to eye about when Conor can come back and fight in the UFC. Back in June, Conor was all ready to fight Michael Chandler at UFC 303, after they both helped coach on The Ultimate Fighter, but the fight still hasn’t happened yet.
