Jake Paul Discusses Potential Boxing Fights With Michael Bisping, Anderson Silva, Tommy Fury

Paul is weighing up his options as he targets a new opponent in boxing with Bisping and Silva being among the candidates.

Jake Paul is ready to fight again.

Paul has not competed since an emphatic knockout win over Tyron Woodley in their rematch in December last year.

Having taken a hiatus from the sport since — partly due to his promotional duties — the YouTuber-turned-boxer is ready to return to the ring.

Nothing is confirmed as of yet, however, as an opponent needs to be locked down.

“Not as of yet. There’s a lot of people on the list,” Paul told ESPN. “People are still talking till this day, people calling me out. We’re still locking down the opponent and just want the biggest name possible.”

Could one of those be Tommy Fury, who Paul was originally supposed to face in December until injury forced him to pull out?

Paul is not ruling it out.

But with that said, he needs to be impressed by Fury, who faces Daniel Bocianski this weekend.

“Hopefully, he does something that is exciting,” Paul said. “Hopefully, he wins in a violent way and knocks someone out because all of his fights are snoozefests. And as of now, he’s not good at promoting fights. No one really even knows about the [Bocianski] fight other than me talking about it.

“So, he’s terrible at promoting. And because of that, it’s just not good business. His brother [Tyson Fury] promotes the fight more than he does. His dad [John Fury] promotes the fight more than he does. So he really has to do something to make me interested in that fight again.”

Jake Paul Not Sure If Bisping Has Big Enough Name

Of course, one fighter Paul has been going back-and-forth with is a former fighter in Michael Bisping.

Paul seemingly has an interest in fighting Bisping, but even that’s not a certainty.

Part of that is because Paul doesn’t believe Bisping is down to fight him. Another part is Paul is not sure Bisping is a big enough name.

“I’m keeping one eye on Michael Bisping as well. Just as a joke,” Paul added. “It would be an easy fight. … But I don’t think they’re actually down and I don’t know if Bisping has an even big enough name to make it lucrative.”

Another name that is certainly interesting is former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva.

Unlike Bisping, Silva remains active and has looked impressive in two professional boxing outings last year. Many observers also believe Silva is more than capable of inflicting defeat on Paul.

While he didn’t say much, Paul did agree that it would be a good fight.

“For sure, I think that would be a good fight,” he added.
