Boxing fans got their first official glimpse of Jake Paul and Gervonta “Tank” Davis standing face-to-face on Monday in New York, and the scene turned out exactly as dramatic as people imagined.
The two will headline a Netflix-streamed event on Nov. 14 at Kaseya Center in Miami, marking one of the most unusual crossover matchups of the year. Originally booked for Atlanta, the fight was relocated when the Georgia Athletic and Entertainment Commission declined to sanction it due to the drastic difference in size between the two fighters.
Paul, a 6-foot-1 cruiserweight who tipped the scales at 199.5 pounds for his last bout, physically towered over the 5-foot-5 Davis, who weighed 133.75 pounds in his most recent outing. The mismatch was put on full display during their opening presser when Paul bent forward with his hands on his knees just to meet Davis at eye level — a visual that quickly spread across social media.
The bout will be held at a maximum catchweight of 195 pounds and is scheduled for 10 rounds of three minutes each. Both fighters will wear 12-ounce gloves.
Although officially billed as an exhibition by the Florida Athletic Commission, promoter Nakisa Bidarian revealed there will be three ringside judges to score the contest in case it goes the distance. While exhibition rules often mean no winner is announced, Paul and Davis are clearly raising the stakes for the Netflix audience.
Importantly, the fight will not count on either man’s professional record, but that hasn’t lessened the buzz surrounding the matchup.
Momentum for Both Fighters
Jake Paul is coming off his two biggest spectacles yet: a victory over 58-year-old Mike Tyson last year and a dominant win against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in June of this year. Now, he continues his trend of headline-making crossover events.
Meanwhile, Davis is looking for redemption after his last fight ended in a draw against Lamont Roach. Although many expected a rematch with Roach, “Tank” surprised the boxing world by pivoting to this high-profile clash with Paul instead.

Not one to miss an opportunity to stir the pot, Paul took to X (formerly Twitter) after the press event, calling November 14 “bring your kid to work day.”

While the outcome won’t alter career records, the sheer star power of both men guarantees attention. The Netflix spotlight, the size disparity, and the unconventional exhibition rules combine to make Paul vs. Davis one of the most talked-about combat sports events of 2025.
