Former UFC two-division champion Georges St-Pierre is set to co-host the upcoming boxing match between Jake Paul vs. Anderson Silva.

St-Pierre is widely regarded as one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time. He ruled the welterweight division for years, racking up the record for most wins in title bouts and second longest combined title streak with nine straight defenses. After a razor-thin split decision victory over Johny Hendricks in Nov. 2013, GSP chose to relinquish the 170-pound title and step away from competition.

He would return four years later to beat former middleweight champion Michael Bisping at UFC 217 in Nov. 2017. ‘Rush’ announced his retirement from the sport shortly after the win.

Georges St-Pierre will co-host Jake Paul vs. Anderson Silva

On Oct. 24, Most Valuable Promotions, Paul’s own fight promotion, took to Twitter to share the news that Georges St-Pierre will be the official co-host for Paul vs. Silva.

“We are honored to announce UFC legend GSP @GeorgesStPierre will be the official co-host of #PaulSilva,” read the tweet.

“Welcome to the show legend,” Paul responded. “Appreciate you for co-hosting.”

Further details have not yet been made clear but it will certainly help bring in more of the MMA fanbase to watch the Showtime boxing pay-per-view.

Paul vs. Silva will also feature ex-UFC fighter Uriah Hall

Internet sensation-turned-boxer Paul will take on his biggest challenge yet in legendary MMA fighter Silva this Saturday at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona. As per MVP, the event will gross the highest gate for boxing and second-highest for combat sports, with the first being UFC 263, in the arena’s 19-year history.

It will also feature former UFC fighter Uriah Hall, who was the runner on the reality television series and MMA competition The Ultimate Fighter season 17. He will clash with former NFL All-Pro running back Le’Veon Bell in a four-round professional fight.
