Floyd Schofield Jr. and Lucas Bahdi are targeted to fight for the vacant WBA lightweight championship on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026.
Golden Boy Promotions, which represents Schofield, and Most Valuable Promotions, which represents Bahdi, reached an agreement before a scheduled WBA purse bid. Schofield confirmed that development in a post on X.
Las Vegas Is The Expected Location
Schofield manager Michael Miller said the date is set while the location remains close to final.
“The fight will take place on October 10 and we are 99% sure it will be in Las Vegas.”
“We are thankful for the opportunity to fight for a title. It’s something we’ve been waiting on for years.”
A specific Las Vegas venue, the supporting card and broadcast details have not been announced. Schofield and Bahdi will contest the WBA title vacated when Gervonta Davis was moved to champion-in-recess status.

Schofield, 23, is unbeaten at 19-0 with 13 knockouts. The Austin, Texas lightweight is ranked No. 1 by the WBA and No. 6 by The Ring. He last competed in June 2025, stopping former junior-lightweight champion Tevin Farmer in 78 seconds. Four months earlier, illness forced Schofield out of a scheduled title challenge against Shakur Stevenson during fight week.
Bahdi, 32, is unbeaten at 20-0 with 15 knockouts. The Ontario, Canada contender is No. 2 in the WBA rankings and No. 8 with The Ring. His sixth-round knockout of Ashton Sylve in July 2024 preceded wins over Armando Casamonica and Ryan James Racaza, both previously unbeaten, and a 12-round unanimous decision over former junior-lightweight champion Roger Gutierrez in August 2025.
The Oct. 10 target would end a 16-month layoff for Schofield and place two undefeated contenders in a world-title fight. Both the exact venue and the rest of the event remain pending official announcement.
