Boxing icon Floyd Mayweather hit Times Square in NYC for a face-off with John Gotti III.
‘Money’ will head to Mexico City for a rematch with Gotti III on Saturday, August 24 after their first meeting in 2023 ended in utter chaos. With less than a minute left in the sixth round, referee Kenny Bayless stopped the bout and disqualified Gotti III for excessively grabbing and holding Mayweather.
Upset by the decision, Gotti III charged after Mayweather in an attempt to restart the fight on his own terms. That prompted both teams’ corners to pour into the ring for an all-out brawl.

Floyd Mayweather Continues His Exhibition World Tour with Gotti III Rematch in Mexico
Gotti III is the 31-year-old grandson of American mafioso and infamous boss of the Gambino crime family in New York City, John Gotti. However, Gotti III made a name for himself in the world of mixed martial arts, going 5-1 with four first-round knockouts before making the move to boxing.
So far, he has two wins in the sweet science, besting Albert Tulley and Alex Citrowske.
Meanwhile, Floyd Mayweather is a man who needs no introduction. Regarded as one of the greatest professional boxers in the history of the sport, ‘Money’ retired in 2017 with a perfect 50-0 record, his last professional victory coming against UFC icon Conor McGregor.
Since then, Mayweather has been traveling the world and competing in exhibition bouts. In 2021, he went eight rounds with Logan Paul at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida, and made an appearance under the RIZIN FF banner in Japan, earning a TKO against featherweight mixed martial artist Mikuru Asakura.
