Floy Mayweather Blast Dana White Of Using His Name As A Leverage

Mayweather scores a victory in his extremely lucrative boxing match against UFC star Conor Mcgregor back in August. After winning the fight via TKO in the 10th round, Mayweather promised it would be the final fight of his career.

Since then tons of rumors speculating about Floyd Mayweather joining a bandwagon with the UFC.

According to UFC brass Dana White, UFC and Floyd Mayweather are discussing a deal that would bring the undefeated pugilist into MMA world.

“We’re talking to Floyd about doing a UFC deal,” White told ESPN. “It’s real. He was talking about [boxing] Conor McGregor. Was that real? Have you heard Floyd talk about many things that aren’t real? He usually tips his hand when he’s in the media, and then that s— ends up happening.

“We’re interested in doing something with Floyd. Everything is a realistic possibility. Mayweather vs. McGregor f—ing happened. Anything is possible.”

In his recent interview with TMZ sport, White says his discussions with the Mayweather’s camp had nothing to do with the possibility that the GOAT Mayweather would start an MMA career.

“I’ve been very honest about it,” White said. “I’m getting into boxing. I want to get into boxing. In 2018, the next couple of months, I’m meeting with everybody from the boxing world. … I’m meeting with Team Mayweather too.”

A per Mayweather, White is using his name as an advantage during some very sensitive negations to renew a Tv deal with FOX. The promotions had signed a seven-year TV deal with FOX back in 2011. That deal came to an end recently. Mayweather doesn’t seem happy and is frustrated with Dana White and recently speaking to Fight Hype.

“Their deal with Fox is coming to an end. So, they’re trying to renew a new deal with any company what better name could they use than Floyd Mayweather? Because that’s a great name to use. I would use a Floyd Mayweather so I could leverage also and say, ‘You know what? Floyd’s gonna come back, he’s going to fight in the UFC. Floyd’s gonna come back and he’s gonna fight McGregor in the Octagon.’ So they can leverage and get another big deal. I don’t have anything against Dana White. At all. He’s a remarkable guy, a very, very smart guy. Smart business man. I don’t need to fight again. If I chose to fight in the Octagon, I’m choosing to fight in the Octagon because that’s what I want to do.”

“If it didn’t come from my mouth or Al Heymon’s mouth, then it’s bullshit. It’s bullshit. Let’s not be stupid. So I’m not fighting, I don’t have no boxing opponent I’m looking forward to. I’m not calling no names out in the sport of box. I’m not calling any names out in the UFC. Dana White, my man, it’s just like this. I’m not worried about what kind of money you got, or what you doing with your money, or what you doing with your family. Don’t worry about what I’m doing with my money, and my family. That’s the problem with motherfuckers nowadays, we’re too worried about what someone else is doing with their money.”

Also if Mayweather is serious about a UFC deal, or to help launch the new boxing promotion, undefeated pugilist denied all these rumors on the ground.

White got a taste of boxing back in August when the UFC was a co-promoter to Floyd Mayweather’s PPV showdown with UFC lightweight champ Conor McGregor. How much their showdown generates, even it didn’t take long before White to discuss the idea of the UFC entering the boxing business under the Zuffa banner. Right now all seems talk from both parties and in the world of combat sports anything could be possible.
