Filip Hrgovic just walked through the fire, watched the blue-chip prospect fade, and stole the shine from one of boxing’s loudest coronation plans. Hrgovic stopped Moses Itauma in the ninth round at The O2 in London to win the vacant IBF heavyweight title, flipping the story from a youth takeover into a brutal veteran reminder. The result lands in a heavyweight division already full of weird traffic, from the Murat Gassiev contender shuffle to the wider belt scramble around the top names.
Itauma came in trying to become the second-youngest heavyweight world champion ever, behind only Mike Tyson. For several rounds, that did not look like fantasy matchmaking. The 21-year-old southpaw buzzed Hrgovic early, forced a standing eight count in Round 2, and kept landing clean left hands while Hrgovic looked like he might be stuck in survival mode.

Hrgovic Took The Storm, Then Made Itauma Pay
The fight turned once Itauma’s gas tank started screaming. Promoter Frank Warren said Hrgovic is set to face Frank Sanchez next, but Hrgovic had bigger belts on his mind after the win. He wants Dubois and WBC champion Agit Kabayel instead, telling the division:
