- Eddie Hearn shared his early Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford prediction
- The British promoter thinks Canelo could stop “Bud” if he stays active and aggressive in the early rounds
Eddie Hearn thinks Canelo Alvarez could stop Terence Crawford early the fight with his aggressiveness.
Eddie’s prediction
Hearn is already excited to see how Alvarez vs. Crawford will go down. As expected, the Matchroom Sport boss picked the Mexican to get the better of the naturally smaller “Bud.”
“It’s a fantastic fight. You know, two generational greats, two pound-for-pound greats, I do think the weight will be too much for Terence. I do think the weight will be too much for Terence. I think even in the Madrimov fight you saw that physically, even at 154, he is not a big 154, he’s definitely not a big 160 and he’s definitely not even a small 168. So, but he has got unbelievable skill and he’s got a huge boxing IQ but so is Canelo Alvarez. So, I do give him the edge in that fight,” Hearn told Fight Hub TV.
Eddie sees Canelo stopping Terence
When asked if he thinks Alvarez could win via stoppage, Hearn confidently said yes. The way Eddie sees it, Crawford will be the one moving around but Alvarez should be able to continue being “active.”
Ultimately, Hearn thinks Alvarez will have the best chance of stopping “Bud” by being aggressive early in the fight.
“Yeah, I believe so,” Hearn said, affirming Alvarez could stop Crawford. “If Canelo’s active in the fight, it depends. He’s got to get to him early. Terrence will be moving his feet and Canelo won’t like that you know, he wants you to come and fight him.”
Before being booked for Crawford, Alvarez was supposed to take on Jake Paul. However, the fight got scratched off and the multi-division champ ended up facing “Bud.” This prompted Paul to fire shots at Alvarez, accusing the Mexican of ducking him.
Alvarez and Crawford are fighting for the unified super middleweight championship belt. The bout will take place in September.
