Six years removed from his last mixed martial arts appearance, BJJ specialist Dillon Danis returned to combat sports on Saturday night as part of a loaded Misfits Boxing 22 card in Manchester.
Danis won back-to-back bouts under the Bellator banner in 2019. Now, ‘El Jefe’ is back and looking to make history as Misfits Boxing’s first-ever MMA champion. Standing in his way of that goal is Warren Spencer, an exhibition boxing standout with back-to-back wins against Nicholai Perrett and Muganzi Hakim.
Round 1
Spencer came out and immediately attempted to engage with Danis in the grappling. That proved to be a fatal error as Danis quickly cinched in a guillotine and forced Spencer to tap out 15 seconds into the scrap.
