Darren Till, a former UFC middleweight contender, has the combat sports world talking with news of a potential boxing match against controversial influencer Andrew Tate. On The Ariel Helwani Show, the 32-year-old from Liverpool said the fight is “75%” done, aiming for a December 2025 date in the UK.

Till’s Push for a Blockbuster Fight

The hype started when Till called out Tate on social media, taking aim at his “Top G” persona. Tate, a former kickboxer, responded on X, fueling interest in the matchup. Till views the fight as a career-defining opportunity, both for its financial payoff and the chance to challenge Tate’s reputation in the ring.

“I think all parties [want it],” Till said. “I think Andrew Tate is definitely interested, or he wouldn’t have tweeted me back. Misfits are interested, my management are interested, his manager is potentially. It’s looking like a fight that’s going to be made before the end of the year in a great location, and obviously, he’s in my eyes one of the most famous people in the world. Certainly the most Googled and stuff like that. It’s huge, it’s life-changing. The money is right. you fight Andrew Tate, you don’t have to think about working again.”

Tate replied on X, saying:

“Darren I think you’re hilarious. Always enjoyed your antics and humor. Also seen your career and respect it, you’re well liked in my circles. The fight would be great! I understand fighting me is life changing money for you (not me). But there’s no need for name calling. I really don’t like all that clown s— and being rude etc we’re both professionals here. I find it rude and if that’s the way you’re trying to get the fight it won’t happen. I’m the superstar here. Talk nicely and I’ll reply to your team’s desperate messages.”

Till fired back, saying:

“I don’t go around calling myself the ‘Top G.’ I don’t try to belittle women for my own ego. I have four daughters and a beautiful girlfriend. I’m girl power. If you’re gonna go around referring to yourself as ‘the Top G,’ you’re gonna have to come prove it.”

After leaving the UFC in 2022, Till switched to boxing. He debuted in July 2024, knocking out Mohammad Mutie at Social Knockout 3 in Dubai. In January 2025, he stopped Anthony Taylor in the sixth round at Misfits Boxing X Series 20 in Manchester. On February 15, 2025, Till defeated Darren Stewart by unanimous decision (77-73, 77-74, 77-74) at Misfits Boxing 21 at AO Arena in Manchester, dropping Stewart in the first and eighth rounds. Till then knocked out Luke Rockhold in the third round at Misfits Boxing 22 on August 30, 2025, bringing his boxing record to 3-0.
