  • Conor McGregor lost $1 million after betting on Mike Tyson to beat Jake Paul
  • Drake also lost $355K for putting his money on “Iron Mike”

Conor McGregor and Drake both loss massive bets on Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson boxing match.

McGregor was confident Mike would win

Ahead of the fight, “Notorious” revealed he wagered $1 million on Tyson to beat “The Problem Child.” Moments before the much-awaited showdown, McGregor even raved about the 58-year-old’s physique, suggesting that he is confident Tyson would win.

Unfortunately for the former UFC two-division champ, “Iron Mike” suffered a unanimous decision loss to Paul.

Prior to this, McGregor has already experienced a series of losses, having blown $500K for betting on Francis Ngannou to get KO’d in his PFL debut and $1.2 million for betting on a KO/TKO ending for the Alex Pereira vs. Khalil Rountree Jr. title fight at UFC 307.

The Drake curse is back

Aside from McGregor, Drake was another famous sports bettor who lost a lump sum of money on the Paul vs. Tyson fight. The rapper expected to pocket over $1 million in winnings by betting $355K on Tyson beating Paul.

Like McGregor, Drake also lost, leading to many believing the infamous “Drake Curse” is back. Before betting on “Iron Mike,” the Canadian already lost more than half a million dollars for betting on Tyson Fury to defeat Oleksandr Usyk in the pair’s unification bout last May.

Paul was declared the winner via unanimous decision after outmatching Tyson in the lopsided bout. However, many speculate that the fight was controversial with some claiming it was rigged.
