BREAKING: Conor Mcgregor In Negotiation For Another Massive Boxing Match For April 2018

An April fight between Manny Pacquiao and McGregor would seem like a long shot — although the same was said about McGregor’s fight against pugilist Floyd Mayweather.

Back last month when Manny Pacquiao sparkled at a possible fight with McGregor, we all just took it with a grain of salt just like Paulie Malignaggi’s constant petition to settle his beef with Notorious. However, it seems more than just talk.

Filipino boxing legend Pacquiao says he has reached out to UFC star McGregor for a potential boxing match in April. Both athletes have entered into negotiations to have a multi-million dollar boxing match in April of 2018. If this materializes, McGregor would most likely vacate his UFC lightweight title in order to make another filthy amount of money.

Pacquiao hasn’t fought since July. He surrendered his WBO welterweight belt to Jeff Horn, in a controversial decision in Australia. He is considering a return to fighting early next year.

Pacquiao told reporters that he had opened talks with McGregor’s team as reported to newswire service AFP (via Yahoo!):

“If we can negotiate it, I have no problem. It is OK with both of us.”

When asked about specific details about the mega fight, Pacquiao said that both parties made an initial meeting, but it had not progressed any further.

“Initially, but we have not yet had any follow-up conversations,” Pacquiao said.

So some opening talks have been made, but the fight appears to be far from a certainty as of right now. Manny wants to fight only if the contest can take place in the Philippines during the Senate’s recess since he is currently serving as a Senator. The legend says that McGregor is just one of several opponents being considered for a possible April 2018 bout.

“It depends who they can finalize as my opponent by April.”

McGregor, 29, hasn’t defended his UFC lightweight title since winning it against Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 in November 2016, and UFC president Dana White repeatedly has stated he’s looking forward to McGregor getting back into the Octagon.

McGregor lost to all-time great Mayweather via TKO in the 10th round of their multi-million boxing match on Aug. 26.

He recently went on record saying that he has “transcended both MMA and boxing” and future opponents must “lobby” to get a fight with him. If the money is not right, he wouldn’t be looking back at UFC octagon.
