A well-known fighter feels like he’s the one to blame for what happened during the big match in Texas, where Jake Paul defeated Mike Tyson.

Shannon Briggs Admits Role in Mike Tyson’s Loss to Jake Paul

Shannon Briggs grew up in the same place as Mike Tyson, Brownsville, New York, and he has a lot of respect for the boxing legend. Briggs and Tyson are close, having shared the same tough upbringing. But things took a turn when Briggs helped Jake Paul and his brother Logan learn the ropes of boxing.

At the time, Jake was just a social media star trying something new, but with Briggs’ help, Jake turned into a serious fighter. As Jake’s popularity grew, so did his skill, and soon he found himself facing Mike Tyson in the ring. Briggs never expected his training to lead to Jake beating Tyson in front of thousands of fans at the Dallas Cowboys’ stadium.

Now, Briggs feels like it’s his fault. He says that by helping Jake, he’s partly responsible for what happened in the fight, a moment that shocked the boxing world.

In an interview with Fight Hype, he said: “I feel responsible because I feel like I created this monster. We developed what you see now with YouTube boxing. It’s crazy.”

He later added: “I would have liked to have seen Mike Tyson throw more punches. I wonder why he wasn’t.

“He should have went crazy and got busy and took it to him.”
