Anthony Joshua Is coming For Deontay Wilder’s WBC Belt!

In an interview with TMZ Sports, the British multiple-title holder (WBA, WBO, IBF, and IBO) Anthony Joshua briefly discussed his upcoming fight with stand-in Andy Ruiz, after Jarrell ‘Big Baby’ Miller failed several drug tests and of course his desire to fight Deontay Wilder.

First, he was asked about Miller and Joshua responded with…

“well, Miller I’m not going to knock him when he’s down, he made a mistake and I hope he can turn that negative into a positive.”

Then Anthony Joshua talked about his current opponent Andy Ruiz whom he’s clashing on the upcoming June 1 fight in Madison Square Garden…

“Andy Ruiz a Mexican fighter, strong you know how the Mexicans do they come to fight they’re filled with heart. People will get to know him if they don’t already.”

“Wilder, I want Wilder He’s got the belt, I’ve got the four belts… what I need is the WBC. If he’s ready and wants to prove he’s the best in the World, then come see me”.

Deontay Wilder will fight Dominic Breazeale on May 18th and the future is up for grabs. But, all we know is that Anthony Joshua is eyeing a fight with the undefeated Wilder.
Now, what boxing really wanted was a rematch between Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury to settle the draw last year but this likely won’t happen. Wilder signed with Showtime and Fury signed with ESPN.

So, could Anthony Joshua get his wish to fight Deontay Wilder for the WBC belt? It’s possible and it would be an electrifying event between the two heavyweights.
