Anthony Joshua Brutally KO’s Alexander Povetkin In Round 7

Anthony Joshua Earns TKO Win In Defense Of Unified Heavyweight Titles

Undefeated heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua delivered some fireworks early on (Sat., Sept. 22, 2018) live on DAZN from inside the Wembley Stadium in London, England, when he finished Russian veteran Alexander Povetkin with a series of powerful punches to earn a seventh-round TKO win to retain his world heavyweight titles.

Fighting in his hometown with nearly 85,000 noisy compatriots, Joshua got his nose bleeding after being hit by an overhand right in the opening round. In what was the close fight in the early rounds, Joshua was behind on the scorecards midway through the contest and aware of the threat of the older, more experienced challenger. Anthony recovers back in the middle frames.

After absorbing shots from Povetkin, Joshua’s left hook straight right-hand combination twice wobbles Alexander Povetkin in the sixth. By the seventh round, Anthony wrecked Povetkin with a left hook followed by a right hand that dropped the Russian heavyweight on the ground. Povetkin climbed groggily to his feet, Joshua hit with a flurry of punches finishing with another right hand that finally end the fight.

With this performance, Joshua once again proved to be the best heavyweight on the planet and extends his unbeaten streak to 22 fights.
