In a surprising announcement Thursday, Misfits Boxing co-president and promoter Mams Taylor confirmed that Andrew Tate will assume the role of CEO for the promotion. Taylor cited KSI’s prolonged absences and their impact on the organization as the main reason for the leadership change.

“This wasn’t a hostile takeover, but it was certainly planned,” Tate said in a video posted on Misfits Boxing’s Instagram account. He added that he will debut in the ring for the promotion with a heavyweight bout against TV personality Chase DeMoor, scheduled for December 20 in Dubai, billed as an MFB heavyweight title fight.

Tate, a British-American influencer, has a history of legal controversies, including sexual assault allegations in Romania, the United States, and the United Kingdom. He was placed under house arrest in Romania in 2024 alongside his brother over accusations of rape and human trafficking. Following his release, Tate traveled to the U.S., where he faced civil claims of physical and sexual abuse. Additional legal matters in the U.K., including tax evasion and assault allegations, remain unresolved.

Despite these ongoing cases, Tate officially replaces KSI, also known as Olajide Olatunji, as Misfits Boxing CEO. Taylor explained that the decision followed a board meeting, citing concern that KSI’s absences had nearly undermined the promotion’s stability.

Tate has openly embraced a provocative persona, describing himself as “absolutely a misogynist” and claiming women are “intrinsically lazy.” Nevertheless, he intends to lead Misfits Boxing while preparing for his Dubai fight.

Regarding his in-ring record, Tate claims a kickboxing record of 76-9-1.  DeMoor, Tate’s upcoming opponent, is an actor with seven professional boxing bouts, most of them in Tijuana, Mexico.

This dual role as CEO and fighter is unprecedented for the promotion and has drawn attention due to Tate’s contentious reputation and multiple ongoing investigations. The December fight in Dubai is expected to attract significant media and fan interest, marking a controversial new chapter for Misfits Boxing under Tate’s leadership.
