Anderson Silva and Chris Weidman, two of MMA’s most notable middleweight fighters, are set for a third confrontation, but this time in the boxing ring. Their previous UFC bouts in 2013 remain iconic, with Weidman winning both contests—first by knockout and then by TKO after Silva suffered a severe leg injury. Now, they will meet in a six-round heavyweight boxing match at 205 pounds on the undercard of Jake Paul vs. Gervonta Davis. The event is scheduled for November 14 at Miami’s Kaseya Center and will stream on Netflix.

Multiple sources confirmed the matchup, and Most Valuable Promotions also officially announced the fight, citing both fighters’ interest in returning to the ring.
Nakisa Bidarian, CEO of Most Valuable Promotions, explained the matchup:
“Anderson and his team approached me immediately after the Jake Paul vs. ‘Tank’ Davis fight was announced and said they would like to be a part of the event and he would like to fight Chris Weidman. Once it was clear that both men wanted it, and wanted it as a professional fight, MVP was 100 percent in given the history between them, reaching a broader generational consumer base and enhancing the event’s marketability in Brazil.”
Weidman, 41, ended Silva’s legendary UFC middleweight reign at UFC 162 with a knockout, and then won the rematch at UFC 168 after Silva broke his leg.

Silva, now 50, expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming fight:
“I am super excited to embark on another battle against Chris. We have a history and on Friday, November 14th, live only on Netflix, we’re putting another stamp on our chapter together. It will be a spectacle for the fans!”
Earlier rumors suggested the fight might happen, but Weidman initially denied them. In August, he stated he was open to facing Silva in boxing:
“I’m undefeated in boxing and it’s gonna stay that way on Friday, November 14, live on Netflix. I’m the original spider killer.”
Weidman captured the UFC middleweight title by defeating Silva in 2013 and defended it twice before losing to Luke Rockhold at UFC 194. After a 3-8 run in his final UFC bouts, he retired following a decision loss to Eryk Anders.
Silva, widely regarded as one of the greatest middleweights ever, retired from MMA after a knockout loss to Uriah Hall in 2020. He transitioned to boxing, scoring a split decision win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in 2021, a quick knockout of Tito Ortiz, and later a high-profile unanimous decision loss to Jake Paul in 2022.
