Anderson Silva can box in Arizona.
Future fight in Arizona
According to MMA Junkie, UFC legend Silva has been licensed to box in Arizona. The report says Silva “was officially granted a professional boxing license to fight in the state of Arizona. The Arizona Boxing and Mixed Martial Arts Commission approved Silva’s license application on Friday afternoon. The vote passed unanimously among commissioners.”
This week, several reports of a Jake Paul vs. Silva boxing match that will take place in October came out. NoSmokeBoxing was the first to report the news that the fight is targeted for October 29th, but no venue or location was reported. TMZ sports would later confirm the report.
Anderson Silva
Since leaving the UFC, The Spider has been flawless in his boxing career. He fought twice in 2021, defeating Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. via split decision, and then three months later, he knocked out fellow ex-UFC fighter Tito Ortiz in less than two minutes. Silva has had a relatively quiet 2022, but he did box Bruno Machado in an exhibition match in Abu Dhabi.
Jake Paul
Like his potential future opponent, the Youtuber turned pro boxer has had a quiet year after lighting the boxing world on fire in 2021. Paul was set to return this past month against Hasim Rahman Jr.; however, the bout was canceled after weight issues on the Rahman Jr. side.
