Pic: Cro Cop Undergo Knee Surgery That Halted His Bellator 200 Main Event

Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic suffered a knee injury and was forced to withdraw from his Bellator 200 main event bout with Roy Nelson this Friday from SSE Arena in London, England.

Cro Cop posted on his Instagram to update his fans about his injury and plans to make a comeback in no time.

Former PRIDE FC open-weight Grand Prix champion Filipovic, 43, was supposed to make his Bellator debut in a rematch against former UFC rival Roy Nelson, who defeated Filipovic via third-round TKO at UFC 137 back in 2011. With the winner earning an alternate spot in the promotion’s World Heavyweight Grand Prix, unfortunately, that’s not happening anymore.

Filipovic has won eight straight in a row, finishing each of those foes. Most recently beat Tsuyoshi Kohsaka via TKO on New Year’s Eve.

So the middleweight championship contest between Rafael Carvalho and challenger Gegard Mousasi has been bumped from the co-main slot to serve as the new main event.
