Frank Mir Taps To Strikes Against Javy Ayala In The Second Round!
Bellator 212: “Salute The Troops” takes place tonight (Friday, December 14, 2018) at the Neal S. Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu, Hawaii. The co-main event of the evening brings the clash between the former UFC Heavyweight champion Frank Mir and Javy “Eye Candy” Ayala.
Javy Ayala had ups and downs recently – 2 wins and 2 losses. In his last two fights, he was defeated to two former UFC competitors Roy Nelson and Cheick Kongo. Frank Mir has a score of 0-3 in his last three bouts, with losses to Arlovski, Hunt, and Fedor. He’ll be looking to stop his cold streak tonight.
Round 1
The fighters clinched up early on. Ayala pushes Mir to the fence but the fighters separate. Low kick from Frank Mir, who gets double underhooks.
Mir takes Ayala down into a half-guard!
Body shots, and now Mir tries to trap Ayala’s right arm. Kimura attempt failed but Mir transits to side control. He still has the dominant position. And now more elbows to the opponent’s mid-section.
Mir threatens with Kimura again but chooses to deliver elbows to the head. And now Frank Mir transits to mount but it allows Ayala to stand, what a fight!!!

Quick takedown Frank Mir. Knee to the body as Ayala stands up.
And now knees and elbows from Ayala look like Frank Mir is cut open.
Both fighters back to the clinch, elbow Ayala. Ayala delivers knees to the thighs. Mir with an unsuccessful hip toss, countered by a left hand.
Mir shoots in for a low takedown. Knee and hammer-fists landing to the body. Ayala avoids a takedown, he pounds on Mir. Great elbows. And now amazing body shots!!!
Mir delivers a strong knee. Now he opens up with punches, changing levels. Ayala presses Mir against the fence.
Amazing short strikes from Ayala. Oh, no, Frank Mir struggles with blood and he can’t continue, he taps out! Short strikes and elbows while backed against the cage were too much for Frank Mir!
The fight is over, the victory for Javy Ayala!

Frank Mir drops to 18-13 MMA, 0-2 BMMA, while Javy Ayala improves the score to 11-7 MMA, 6-4 BMMA.
