Godbeer To Face Sparks In Bellator Debut

Sources close to AddictedMMA have revealed that UK Heavyweight Mark Godbeer (8-1) will make his Bellator debut at Bellator 75 on October 5th against the ever-dangerous Ron Sparks (8-1). The fight will be a quarter-final fight in Bellator’s heavyweight tournament.

Godbeer who has competed mainly at light heavyweight through his career only made the step-up to heavyweight earlier this year. The one bout Godbeer has had at heavyweight was enough to impress Bellator officials who promptly secured his signature after he defeated Catalin Zmarandescu at BAMMA 9 in March of this year.

Sparks, on the other hand, is a Bellator veteran having competed in the last heavyweight tournament where he lost to Eric Prindle via KO. Previous to that the 6’5″ monster had defeated Mark Holata, Vince Lucero and Gregory Maynard under the Bellator banner.

The other two announced quarter-finals are Eric Prindle vs. Thiago Santos and Brett Rogers vs. Ruslan Magomedov.
