Benson Henderson Vs. Roger Huerta Will Headlines Bellator 196 In Budapest On April 6

Bellator 196 set to take place in Budapest, Hungary on April 6, with the main headliner features James Gallagher vs. Adam Borics. But Bellator’s rising Irish star James Gallagher suffered a hand injury and forced to pull out of the main event fight.

The promotion called on former UFC and WEC lightweight champion Benson Henderson and MMA veteran Roger Huerta as the replacement. The news was first reported on “The MMA Hour.”

After leaving the UFC with a decorated resume and momentum on his side, it’s fair to say that Henderson’s Bellator tenure hasn’t had the best of luck. He has lost three of four fights in the organization, which included title fights with Andrey Koreshkov and Michael Chandler.

Benson is currently on a two-fight losing streak after dropping split decision defeats against Patricky Freire and Michael Chandler.

Former UFC Roger Huerta enters the bout on a two-fight winning streak. He was the first MMA fighter in history to be cover of Sports Illustrated magazine in 2007. He returns to Bellator after eight years, and he fought his last fight for the organization in 2010 when he lost to Eddie Alvarez by TKO. He recently fought for the One Championship organization and Phoenix FC.
