If anything, this video can be a lesson in what not to do. Here we see two guys squaring up and a myriad of bad boxing techniques. I’m not sure what the fight is over, but let’s assume they’re battling for that sweet big screen TV on the side of the street. Speaking of ‘the streets,’ they are not the best places to try your latest fighting techniques or ideas; but no one told our underdog that. Even a seasoned drunk bar-brawler knows to stick to their bread and butter moves and not get all flashy. It’s safe to say that MMA’s influence hasn’t reached every corner of the world yet, but that didn’t stop one of our combatants from doing his best impression of something that he’s seen on TV. Well, Emanuel Newton he is not; nor is he Edson Barbosa or any other spinny-shit-thrower-bringer-of-doom.
He really should’ve known when the first shoe flew off, that he was at a technical disadvantage. While kicking off the other shoe wasn’t the worst idea in this video, the second kick was. It was (mildly) disappointing that the fight didn’t end in a legit KO, but that feeling was quickly washed away when our winner brought back PRIDE rules. So your lesson is this: In a real fight, stick with what you know best and leave the ninja moves at home in the living room to try on your little brother. Otherwise, you might end up shoeless on the side of a road and not walking off into the sunset winning not only a street fight, but also that big screen TV.
