Watch: At Rizin hotel Krazy Horse Bennett and Wanderlei Silva nearly brawl over 2005 backstage KO

Whoa shit just got real at the Rizin host hotel. Krazy Horse Bennett and Wanderlei Silva almost had a pull-out brawl in the lobby. If Rizin is the unclaimed offspring of the undead Pride FC, then the Japanese promotion also gets all the baggage and lore that comes with it.

Before their event this weekend Rizin is even looking to harness the energy from one of the more infamous nights in Pride’s history; December 31, 2005 at Pride Shockwave 2005

While nearly 50,000 MMA fans sat at the Saitama Super Arena awaiting the main event between Olympic gold medalist Hidehiko Yoshida and Naoya Ogawa, in the locker room Krazy Horse Charles Bennett attempted to fight the entire Chute Boxe Academy. Yes, this actually happened and it was all caught on early 2000s video camera technology.

Well according to Bennett, now going by the moniker Felony, Chute Boxe Academy edited out footage of the lightweight fighter knocking out Wanderlei Silva backstage. Crazy. Insane. Very possible in MMA. Silva for his part rarely speaks about the incident and would fight Ricardo Arona to a split decision later on at Shockwave 2005 after his teammate Cristiano Marcello choked Krazy Horse out on the locker room floor.

Fast forward 11 years later and watch this video of Bennett and Silva nearly coming to blows in the lobby of the Rizin host hotel. Wild.
